1994年のこのアルバムはSony Musicniよって別々に販売されていたニール・ヤングの2枚のトリビュートアルバムを一つにコンパイルしたものです。
Disc  1はアコースティック曲中心に、Disc  2はおもにエレクトリック・サウンドになっています。カナダのミュージシャンが中心になって演奏していますが、大胆なアレンジを施した曲もあり、飽きさせません。
ニール・ヤングの名曲の数々が様々な声とアレンジで歌われますが、改めてニールの楽曲の力を感じることが出来ます。
2007年には、 Borrowed Tunes II：A Tribute to Neil Youngと呼ばれるセカンドアルバムがリリースされています。
