1954年2月14日、日本へ新婚旅行中だったジョー・ディマジオとマリリン・モンローが大阪・伊丹空港に立ち寄った際、老舗百貨店「大丸」から歓迎の花束を贈られた場面を収めた、貴重な販促用カードです。

表面には大丸百貨店のロゴとともに、

"MARILYN MONROE receiving a bouquet from DAIMARU DEPARTMENT STORE at Itami Airport"

（伊丹空港で大丸百貨店から花束を受け取るマリリン・モンロー）

と英文で印刷されています。

裏面には東宝マークと、大阪・南街劇場で1954年3月公開の映画 「百万長者と結婚する方法（How to Marry a Millionaire）」 の宣伝、および3月のカレンダーが印刷されています。

大丸百貨店の販促品として製作されたものと思われ、映画公開に合わせて企画された当時の広告資料としても大変興味深い一品です。

◆ English Description ◆

This is a rare promotional card believed to have been produced for customers of Daimaru Department Store, one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious department stores.

The card features a historic photograph taken on February 14, 1954, when Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe, during their famous honeymoon trip to Japan, stopped at Itami Airport in Osaka and were welcomed with a bouquet presented by Daimaru Department Store.

The reverse side features an advertisement for the classic Marilyn Monroe film "How to Marry a Millionaire", released in March 1954 at Nangai Theater in Osaka, together with a March calendar and the Toho logo.

Believed to have been produced as a promotional item by Daimaru Department Store in conjunction with the film's Japanese release, this card is a fascinating piece of Japanese advertising and entertainment history. It is also an unusual collectible that combines the worlds of baseball, Hollywood, and postwar Japan.

Condition

The card shows some light age-related staining. There are no creases or tears, and it remains in relatively good condition.
