Updated version of the kick starter shaft features a full square shaft and is the mid type.
Features a collar "A" type, with a single notch for the kicker arm bolt.

There is an "A" (VT #17-0449) and "B" (VT #17-0312) version after the initial introduction. #17-0444 is the first version of the kicker shaft introduced for 1954 models.
