ノルマンディ地方の西部、コタンタンの中心地で40年以上もカルバドスを作り続けてきたのがビクトル・ゴンティエ氏。この地方では昔から良く見られる、酪農との兼業をしながらカルバドスを作っていた超が付くほどの小規模生産農家です。
  
以前この生産者から42年物が発売され、カルバドスファンからは大変ご好評をいただきましたが、なんとより熟成の進んだボトルがでてきました。彼のようなカルバドス生産者は大手と違い、生産量も自家製と言っていいほどわずかで、これだけ長期熟成の古酒が現代に残っているのは、ほとんど奇跡的なことと言っていいでしょう。
  
これだけの長期熟成を耐え抜きながら47.8％という、しっかりしたアルコール度数を保っており、封開け後もかなり長いあいだ楽しめそうな極めつけ古酒。ウィスキーをはじめとして、ビンテージ品はここ数年驚くほどの価格高騰を見せている中、この価格は驚異的といっていいでしょう。
