種子には出品者作成の説明書（四角マメについて、育て方など）を同封してお送りします。
 
熱帯アジア原産のマメ科の多年草ですが、耐寒性がないので一年草として扱われます。ただ、沖縄・奄美では冬季も引き続き栽培可能で、年に２回の収穫も可能です。
発芽適温は２５℃～２８℃とやや高めですが、２０℃程度でも十分発芽します。一か所に３粒蒔きとし、生長と共に１株を残します。蔓性植物なのでネットを張って誘引します。放置しておけば数メートルにも蔓を伸ばし、爽やかな緑のカーテンとなります。
 
１０ｃｍ程度の若い莢を収穫します。育ち過ぎると硬くなって食用に向きませんので注意して利用します。てんぷら、炒め物、サラダなどとして美味しく、大豆と同じようにタンパク質を多く含みます。地下の塊根も食用になります。
 
レターパックライト （送料出品者支払い）でお送りします。

四角マメを別途３０粒、１００粒でも出品していますが、そちらは少量を希望される方向けです。こちらの４００粒は大口希望の方向けであり、「同じような商品等を１日に２オークションID以上で出品すること」というヤフオク！のガイドライン違反に該当するものではありません。落札者のニーズに対応するための出品です。 "
