Early 1990s, Helmut Lang's personal period
This is a vest (gilet) from his personal period.
I purchased this as a reference in 2018 from a shop in Paris, France, that handles the archives of European designers such as Lang and Raf Simons. It is unused.
The shop explained that it was a one-of-a-kind prototype reconstructed for a show in Lang's atelier, making it a highly valued archive piece.
Both sides of the gilet have been reconstructed.
The right side has been reconstructed, and features two strips of reflective tape (Image 5). The left side has also been reconstructed (Image 6).
This archive vest is in good condition with no damage to the brand tag.

It does not have the sheen of nylon.
