インドネシアの数ある織物の中でも、イカット（絣織り）は世界的に最もよく知られています。特に、スンバ島やスンバワ島、フローレス島、アロール島などの、小スンダ列島の島々のイカットが有名です。しかしながら、それらの東西ヌサトゥンガラ州産の物と比べ、優るとも劣らぬ最高レベルのイカットを生み出す地域がカリマンタン（旧ボルネオ）島なのです。ことに、西部カリマンタンのカプアス川流域に暮らす総称してダヤク族と呼ばれる人々が織ったイカットは、近年シンガポールやマレーシア市場で大人気です。そればかりか、欧州や北米そしてオーストラリアのコレクターの間でも、人気急上昇中です。
ここに紹介するイカットは、カプアス川中流部に位置するシンタン(Sintang)市付近のエンサイド・パンジャン(Ensaid Panjang)村のロニアティ(Roniati)さんが織ったものです。ダヤク社会でも、カプアス川中流部一帯は、一番有名なイカット生産地として知られています。カトリック宣教団が運営する文化センターであるKOBUSの指導の下、伝統工芸復活運動が積極的に進められており、特に、伝統手法に基づいたイカット生産が推奨されています。自然色（草木から採取した色素）で染めたものです。ケミカルな染色剤では出せない、素朴な色合いがとてもステキです。モチーフは、「ヒル(Lintah)」です。ヒルは、幸運を象徴するモチーフです。
サイズは、長さが121cm（フリンジ部分は約10m）、幅が10.5cm。
